In this ballad, Moses receives the Ten Commandments , their laws and secrets from God.. He acknowledges that the worship of the evil calf was a terrible mistake and begs for forgiveness. Anoji is the First Commandment.

Called Rabbi Moses
To give us the Torah
That begins with Anoji

Forgive us our sins
Elija prophesizes
With Him who spoke Anoji

Moses climbed to the heavens
Without food and without water
He brought the two tablets
That begin with Anoji.

He gave us his Ten Commandments
With their laws and secrets;
The souls were there
When God spoke Anoji.

Our beloved laws
From the walls of the Temple
Is loved by Israel
By Him who spoke Anoji.

On Mount Sinai He set a fire,
With thunder and sound of the shofar
And Israel trembled
When God spoke Anoji.

We made a terrible mistake
Worse than a mistake
We worshipped the evil calf
Against him who spoke Anoji.
